Apples and Oranges

Barrier: Evaluation based on comparison.

How much can you lift, bro?

What was your 10K split, bro?

No days off, bro?

Big reps, bro?

What are you down, bro?

What are you up, bro?

Uh….? 🤔

None of this matters. ❌❌❌

Not in the media, not in the gym and especially not on social.

Evaluating your own accomplishments based on a relationship to anyone else is a progress killer. 🔫

For every moment in time, there’s a story that exists behind it. Evaluating based on a snapshot removes the context which is an incredible disservice to everyone.

Especially the person undertaking the journey.

Once this journey begins, there are tons of variables that will create an impact on outcome; including the starting point.

And if we’re all starting from a different place, it makes our journeys inherently unique.

And herein lies the problem with comparison; when the variables are different, the comparison is rendered meaningless. 👎

Fundamental science. 🔬

So what are we doing here?

Unfortunately, so much of gym culture is driven by bravado and this is yet another example. 🦚

The only person you need to compare yourself too…is you.

Create your own baselines and break through them. 📈

Establish your splits and run faster. 🏃‍♂️

Lift something heavy. 🏋🏿‍♀️

And then lift something heavier. 🏋🏿‍♀️🏋🏿‍♀️

It’s all about you. 🙋🏽💁‍♀️💁🏿‍♂️🙋‍♂️

DM to get started. 🙌
