About

Hi, I’m Aaron :)

I’m a personal trainer and nutrition coach with certifications from the International Sports Science Association and Precision Nutrition, respectively. I work out of Feel Good Company Studio, an intimate personal training facility on the main street in Port Hope, Ontario, Canada.

The Feel Good Company story stars in a park in the early summer of 2021. We were knee deep in the pandemic and I had very recently quit my steady full time marketing job to start a career in an industry that had been shut down for the last past 6 months. I was a 37 year old rookie personal trainer who couldn’t actually work in a gym. Good plan.

But I was passionate. I had finally found something that made me feel the fire I thought had burned out forever. And I was determined to make it work.

Let’s back up just a minute.

Truth is, I’m not a former athlete. My background is in music, entertainment and marketing. I haven’t been a lifelong gym rat. At one point I paid for a Good Life membership for a year and didn’t go once.

I always found the gym intimidating and it was always more fun putting myself through the wringer than it was taking care of myself.

But you know, that eventually catches up to everyone, I think. At least it did for me.

I’ve struggled with mental health for a long time. I fight depression to this day and anxiety has been a real bitch for me at times. Combine that with many years of overlooking my own physical health, the downward momentum really started to pick up steam and eventually it got away from me.

We all train differently and have different goals. We all look different and move differently. But we’re all coming from the same place with the best of intentions.

It was my mom that pulled me into the gym. She worked as a personal trainer in a wonderful facility downtown Port Hope called Resurgence and knew that I could benefit from some movement in my life. Thanks Mom:)

It was at Resurgence that I first felt a little glimmer of hope, as cheesy as that sounds.

It wasn’t long after I started a proper workout routine that I was feeling so good after a good sweat and pondered to myself that if I could feel that good in the gym, I must be able to feel that good outside of it.

That was the moment everything changed.

Fast forward a couple of years later and the pandemic hit. We were all stuck at home and I worked in front of a screen all day. It was breaking my brain and I needed a change.

I already had a certification as a nutrition counselor and it was during those dark days that I decided to get my PT certificate and go for it. I felt how becoming active had changed my life for the better and I wanted to help others experience the same thing.

Now back to the park. On June 8th, 2021 I had my first session ever with a couple of wonderful friends who are still clients to this day. I began running bootcamps around town, doing training sessions out of the park and eventually when things fully opened back up from lockdown, I was working at Resurgence where it all started.

Over the next few years a wonderful community took shape. With clients ranging from 12-87 and from all walks of life from all of the world but right in the middle of downtown Port Hope.

We all train differently and have different goals. We all look different and move differently. But we’re all coming from the same place with the best of intentions.

And now it’s time to open up the doors to Feel Good Company Studio.

Located at 52 Walton St in the heart of downtown Port Hope, it’s a dream come true.

I hope you’ll come and say hello and see what we’re up to.

We’re working hard and we’re having fun.

It’s an awesome place to be.

So that’s the story. That’s how Feel Good Company came to be.

Feel Good Company provides customized personal training and nutritional counselling with a mental health first approach.

The idea behind Feel Good Company is simple: create sustainability in physical effort to achieve stronger overall deep health in the brain and body.

We start by acknowledging barriers and figuring out how to break through them! Everyone has barriers to achievement and once we get them out of the way, the experience becomes incredibly liberating.

The next step is to create new habits: we lean into the concept that one positive choice leads directly into another. With a strategic approach to building new habits around body movement and nutrition, we can ensure that our efforts become the fabric of how we move forward instead of a temporary solution.

And in all that we do, identifying new goals along the way and hitting them with consistency will keep us coming back and continuing towards the big end goals that take time and a lot of patience. Those little victories are what put a smile on our face every day and that’s what this is all about; making every day a little bit easier.

Feel Good Company focuses on creating strength in the brain and body. We’re always looking to create strength as priority.

Whether your goal is body recomposition, improved flexibility, better mobility or any other number of benefits from physical exercise, when strength is the north start, we set ourselves on a path that will ensure our efforts culminate in the success we’re working towards.

Personal training at Feel Good Company is lead by Aaron Sawyer who is a certified trainer from the International Sports Science Association.

Food is the fuel for everything we do! Our relationship and understanding of the food we put into our bodies is paramount to hitting our goals in and out of the gym.

Feel Good Company helps our clients to understand the habits we create around food, how to incorporate positive decisions around food into your lifestyle that satisfy your budget and your tastebuds and how food is a pillar to strength in your body and balance in your brain.

Nutrition counseling at Feel Good Company is lead by Aaron Sawyer who is certified with
