Focus. Come on, focus. Ugh. *Head shake* Lets go, that’s enough. 🤦♂️
Does that internal monologue sound familiar?
There are many days when I wake up with a frenetic energy. 🌪
Focus feels impossible. Starting and stopping a million different tasks but finishing none of them.
The feeling manifests in my head through a visualization of train tracks crossing over. 🚊
It’s frustrating and it’s annoying and sometimes it’s messy.
And I know I’m not alone with this one.
Clients frequently bring a chaotic energy into a session and when that happens, there is a go-to recourse: throw the plan out the window and simplify everything. 🗺
Push. Pull. Lift. Throw. 🏋🏿♀️🏋🏿♀️🏋🏿♀️
Channeling mental and emotional chaos into a simple physical action can be incredibly therapeutic. 🥰
When everything feels misaligned or out of place, harnessing that energy into a physical output creates the onset of calmness and with it comes some clarity.
When there’s nothing standing between you and the weights, the world can slow down a little bit, all of the chaotic energy in your head and heart can be applied to a single action and then…a release.
And that’s the momentum moment. 🙌
That’s the piece to acknowledge, capture and then catapult into the rest of the day.
That’s when the train tracks straighten out. That’s when you find your focus.
