Let's Talk About It: Weight Loss

Let's Talk About It: Weight Loss

Ok, let’s talk about it: weight loss.

I’m never going to tell you to lose weight. Unless there’s a damn good medical reason but chances are someone else with more impressive qualifications than I have is going to tell you that before you ever get to me.

We can talk about and acknowledge the challenges that come with some extra lbs(been there!!!), but I’m always going to recommend strategizing to get stronger rather than aiming for getting skinny.

When you aim for strength, the byproducts are plentiful. And if you make progress with strength, there are inevitable changes to your body composition that come along with it.

In order to get stronger you need to invest yourself with exercise and nutrition and that leads to all kinds of fringe benefits and changes in body structure.

Short and sweet: you’ll be way happier with the result once you get there.

Nutrition will change your size.

Exercise will change your body.

But let’s not be too hard on ourselves.

Diet culture is not healthy or sustainable.

The idea is to promote a healthy relationship with food and exercise for all of the benefits; physically and mentally.

There’s a lot of ways to look good.

There’s a lot of looks that feel healthy.

And it’s important to remember; your size does not determine your health.

But If you do have a desire to change your body composition, there’s a healthy and sustainable way to do it. It’s going to take a bit of time but leaning into the process and acknowledging the milestones along the way are major part of creating sustainability.

Quick fixes are bullshit. All of them. Demotivating and a black hole for your time.

If you put in the work, change will follow. Guaranteed.
